Kelly, Baketress at the Local Bake Shop, was born and raised in rural Ohio. Under the tutelage of her mother, she began baking treats of all kinds for her family.

When she was still young, though, her father was diagnosed with Diabetes. His disease meant that he’d have to live on a restricted diet. As a lover of baked goods, Kelly saw the injustice that was taking place. She didn’t think it was fair that she could eat delicious cakes and pies but her father couldn’t. She slowly started teaching herself how to bake with her father’s restrictions in mind. In time, she was able to serve Diabetic friendly desserts to the rest of her family without anyone noticing the healthier dishes.

Because normal is boring, Kelly began experimenting with other dietary restrictions to see if she could continue making delicious food that was also healthy. She now has gluten free options in her repertoire. Beyond that, she started baking with adult beverages because, well, can you imagine a better combination?

Kelly did all this while still working on her traditional recipes. As an end result, she now has an arsenal of baked goods that will please any palette.
